Holy Blog: The Poster Girl For Mind Control

August 1, 2014 Yolande Brener

I have been fortunate in the coverage I have received for my first book, Holy Candy.  Al Jazeera America's John Seigenthaler interviewed me for Newshour; the Sunday Mirror's Notebook magazine gave me a double page spread, and my reviews have been overwhelmingly favorable.

However I am also grateful to the detractors for making me more self-aware. To the person who accused me of sticking in the knife in my depiction of his character, thank you. To the people who pointed out the typos, thank you. These features have been corrected in the current version of the book.

And to the Unification Church member who pointed out my cruelty in allowing myself to become a "poster girl for brainwashing," thank you, even though it was unintentional. To the Amazon reviewer, who couldn't get very far because, "the author was too self-obsessed," thank you for bringing it to my attention. Finally to B.J. who labeled me "The Succubus Amongst Us," due to a statement taken from my story in nerve.com, thank you. I will leave the reader to decide how accurate this is.
